Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are doing something different with the State Championship tournament this year!

We will be foregoing the traditional two-day tournament in favor of a match play event through the month of April! Our considerations for this format are that we are limiting the number of people collecting in one location and we are limiting the number of teams that you have contact with at a given time. Alongside our other safety guidelines, we feel very confident that this format will be safe, fun, and give kids a competition that they can really get excited about!

Here's how it will work:

1. Pool play games will begin on April 10th.

2. Match play will work very much like AYU League games.

Your team will have one game per week and will either be playing on your home practice field or your opponent's field. We will schedule a default game day (TBD), but just as is the case in league - you may reschedule your game dates with your opponent to best fit your schedule.

3. The last week of Match Play will be the first round of bracket play (Quarter-Finals)

4. Saturday May8th we will host your final two placement games at Long Lake Regional Park.

5. The Schedule is now Set! Here is a link to the schedule >>>

IMPORTANT NOTE: While we are encouraged by the current trend in COVID-19 statistics in the State of Colorado coinciding with the rollout of vaccines, we are still taking safety guidelines VERY seriously.

Please review AYU's COVID-19 Health & Safety Guidelines and follow them strictly along with any Health and Safety guidelines required by your school district and/or county.

To help in early preparation we are announcing some critical deadlines and dates that you should mark down:

March 12th – Deadline to submit your early bid for the State Tournament

  • This will help us plan the tournament and determine if we have numbers for DII
  • It also ensures we can follow up with you regarding other deadlines!

March 25th –Official USAU Registration Deadline for State

April 7th – Deadline to submit State Tournament Fee

  • $350 for Girls
  • $400 for Open
  • Checks made out to  and sent to: Altitude Youth Ultimate Attn: Jeff Berget 3687 Xanthia St. Denver, CO 80238

May 1st – Deadline for Online Rostering

  • Rostering will be left open even after first games have started. PLEASE make sure no players take the field until they are up to date with USAU and added to your roster!

Other Things to Note:

  • Single School Representation / Player Eligibility required
    • If you have players on your roster that are NOT full time students at the school being represented you must seek an exception. Competing with ineligible players could get your team disqualified. If you have players from other schools on your team reach out to us BEFORE State to make sure your situation is approved. Please see the Eligibility Requirements Doc for more information.

  • Safe Sport - ANY adult working with your team must take USAU's SafeSport Certification! Know the law and protect your staff and volunteers!
