If you wish to compete in the Division I State Championships you must qualify in one of two ways:

  1. The Top 5 finishers from last Spring's State Championships automatically qualify for DI. In 2019, those teams are: University School, East A, Monarch A, Lakewood A
** Because of the snow last Fall we were not able to play out 5th place. As a result, we will only be giving automatic bids to the top 4 teams this year!
  2. Take one of the remaining bids by competing at your District Qualifying Tournament. District Tournaments will only be run if there are more teams than bids for each District Please contact your District Coordinator for more information on District Qualifiers!

  3. IMPORTANT NOTE: The Top 4 Finishers from DII in 2018 must apply to play Division I and play their District Qualifier if necessary. Those teams are: CIVA, Fossil Ridge, Golden, and Littleton

You do not need to concern yourself with this if you already plan on competing in Division II. Also, no teams will be turned away from the State Championships. If you do not qualify for the DI Tournament, you are still more than welcome in DII.

To help in early preparation we are announcing some critical deadlines and dates that you should mark down:

September 27th – Deadline to submit your early bid for the State Tournament

  • This helps us plan for the District Championships
  • It also ensures we can follow up with you regarding other deadlines!

October 16th –Official USAU Registration Deadline for State

October 23rd – Deadline to submit State Tournament Fee

  • $350 for DII, Middle School, and Fun Division
  • $400 for DI

  • Paypal – Sent ‘Friends and Family’ with NO transaction fees to: altitudeult@gmail.com
    • Please make a note on the payment of which team(s) the fee is for
  • Since this deadline is prior to most District Championships you have 2 options
    • 1. Pay $400 and we will refund you $50 if you do not qualify for D1
    • 2. Pay $350 and you can pay an additional $50 if you qualify for D1

November 6th – Deadline for Online Rostering

  • After this date, you will no longer be able to add or alter your roster online
  • We highly recommend that you do ALL of your rostering online

Other Things to Note:

  • Players competing in Districts MUST be fully rostered (up-to-date USAU members with a signed waiver)
  • Players may be ADDED to the Roster between Qualifying Events and State
  • Single School Representation / Player Eligibility required
    • If you have players on your roster that are NOT full time students at the school being represented you must seek an exception. Competing with ineligible players could get your team disqualified. If you have players from other schools on your team reach out to us BEFORE State to make sure your situation is approved. Please see the Eligibility Requirements Doc for more information.
  • Safe Sport - ANY adult working with your team must take USAU's SafeSport Certification! Know the law and protect your staff and volunteers!
