Cutthroat 2021 Tryout Registration

Colorado Cutthroat is Colorado's premier youth ultimate club program, with top players from many different HS teams coming together to represent Colorado in a national tournament in August in Blaine, Minnesota. Cutthroat players get high-level coaching from some of the top coaches in the state, experience top-level competition, and get to be teammates with many of their top opponents on other teams!

TRYOUT DATES

  • Location: Location has changed- we will be at Washington Heights for all events (tryouts and practices)
  • U17 Update: Currently we are lacking in numbers. Please invite friends you want to play with. We will likely not be doing tryouts- this is a great opportunity to develop your skills and get to know players on other teams!
  • Girls: Currently numbers are lacking. We will be having monthly clinics (more info to come!). Read more about our mixed team below! 
  • Mixed: We will be having a mixed team with awesome coaches, Ari Nelson and Thomas Echols
  • U15 Fry: With U17 delayed, we will plan to just to straight into our first official practice on Thursday, May 27th, 6 pm at Washington Heights Park. Fry's head coach will be Cruz Alvarez-Machado. Practices will be Tuesdays at Harvey Park and Thursdays at Wash Heights at 6 pm. 

FOR U20 Boys Tryouts on Sunday (all others are delayed… read above)

  1. Remember- tryouts are at Washington Heights Park (6375 W 1st Ave., Lakewood)... seriously, Wash Heights (park in the gravel lot near the art center)
  2. Be cleated and ready to run by 4 pm

USAU (USA Ultimate) is the national organizing body for the sport of Ultimate and source for event liability insurance coverage.

This is to certify that I, as parent/guardian with legal responsibility for this participant, do consent and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the releasees from any and all liabilities incident to my minor child’s involvement or participation in these programs above, even if arising from their negligence, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

To be eligible for U17, you must turn 17 after December 31, 2021.
To be eligible for U20, you must turn 20 after December 31, 2021.

Unexcused absence may result in being automatically dismissed from the process. If an emergency comes up, we will expect you will alert Hannah or a coach know as soon as possible. If you know you cannot make one of the scheduled practices, please detail which dates and reasons for your absence.

The tournament is August 7-9 in Blaine, MN; we will be traveling Aug 6.

NOTE: We expect that costs to attend YCC (fields, lodging, coaching, tournament fees, on site travel) to be about $650, not including the cost of jerseys and airfare to get there. Costs for Mixed to play in club tournaments, fields, and coaching costs will be about $450 (not including jerseys). Once teams are decided, we will send information about financial aid. It is important to us at AYU that no one be excluded from participating in any event we sponsor because they're facing financial challenges with the registration fees. If you need financial assistance, we have funds set aside so that all players can attend and we will provide details when the full fees are due.
